Tomato Sauce Ingredients: Preparation Time: 3 - 4 hours
2 cans crushed tomatoes + 1 can water 1 can tomato paste 3-4 cloves of garlic, crushed1 medium onionolive oilsalt pepper garlic powder parsley basil oregano 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
Cooking Instructions: In a large stockpot, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over med high heat. Add crushed garlic and whole, peeled onion. Cook watching carefully for about 2 minutes, or until garlic begins to soften. (Be sure not to burn or brown garlic)

Remove from heat and add crushed tomatoes, water, and tomato paste and stir until blended. Start adding seasonings in order listed. Use about 1 teaspoon of salt, and add remaining ingredients in order, each covering the seasoning before it as shown below.
    salt & pepper garlic&parsley basil oregano
Stir until thoroughly blended, add wine if using, bring to a simmer, and reduce heat to low. Cook uncovered for one hour before removing whole onion.
 Continue to cook for two to three hours or until reduced to about 2/3 of original amount.
